Phonebanks tonight and tomorrow (corrected)
Just in case the http://my.barackobama.com/Day7 link doesn't give you a list of phonebanks, here are two for this evening (Wednesday the 17th) in Palo Alto and Cupertino and two for tomorrow (Thursday the 18th), also in Palo Alto and Cupertino.
Every vote will count!
President Obama's Health Reform Proposal
President Obama's plan to bridge the differences between the House and Senate health reform legislation was released today. The White House has created a micro-website for it here, and you can read a ten page summary here. A very good Q & A titled "What Reform Means To You" answers basic questions about the impact of reform for different groups: people that currently have insurance, small business owners, people on Medicare, etc. The Center for American Progress created a helpful table summarizing the major aspects of House, Senate, and Obama plans here.
There's even a page that describes all the Republican ideas that have been incorporated -- evidence in black and white that this is not a radical plan and that Republicans have not been ignored.more >>>
Virtual March for Real Health Care Reform
Hi,
As politicians fret about the political risks of health care reform instead of fixing our broken system, people are dying.
It's time for Congress to stand up to Big Insurance and their conservative allies and get health care reform done—and done right.
That's why I just signed up to join MoveOn's Virtual March for Real Health Care Reform. The goal is to send a million messages to Capitol Hill on Wednesday, February 24—the day before President Obama's big health care summit with members of Congress.

Thanks!
Please take the time to do this. We are back on the march and have a real chance of apssing Health Reform but we need big numbers.
Help stop the flood of corporate money into our democracy
Stop the corporate takeover of our democracy!
Yesterday, the Supreme Court announced a disastrous rollback of campaign finance laws. Their 5-4 decision gives corporations free rein to spend unlimited amounts of money on elections.
It's a horrible decision. But we can undo some of the damage if Congress passes public financing of elections, which would give progressives and populists who don't have industry backing the ability to compete.
I just signed a petition urging Congress to pass public financing of elections quickly--can you join me at the link below?

Medical Care for Haitians
Dear all,
Remember how I wrote that The Feinstein 1200 is unfunded, and with good reason?
Here's the reason: other people actually know what to do with your money.
Very rarely can I recommend a group that works so well with so little, but Harvard-trained Dr. Paul Farmer's Partners In Health, which provides free medical care to the Haitian people, is that group.
