Take Action
We are the change we’ve been waiting for! National change starts locally--really locally. President Obama has asked each of us to take action in our community, to participate in creating change one person at a time. This is really no different than our work during the election: We talked to our neighbors. We made phone calls, donated food, and learned how to organize. Going forward, Silicon Valley for Obama will apply its existing infrastructure to enable the community to make change locally.
We've created issue-focused groups to focus on driving our efforts related to the key issues identified by our membership: Poverty and the Economy; Education; Environment and Green Jobs; and Healthcare. We're open to involving ourselves in other areas too, but those are our key areas of focus. If you'd like to volunteer, check the calendar for an event that matches your interests. Don't see what you like here? Check out (nonprofit directory A or B). And consider join a Group (or two), so you can stay up to date on issues that matters to you. If you'd like to organize an event, but don't know how, check out our volunteering page. If you have an event you're planning, and you'd like our volunteers to attend, add it to the calendar. For more in-depth involvement, contact the relevant issue group. It's time. Let's do it.
